Pour terminer l’année en beauté et commencer la nouvelle année… en beauté, nous avons choisi de passer le nouvel an à Hong Kong.
Nous avons quitté les îles paradisiaques pour partir à l’assaut d’une jungle de 1400 buildings, un changement de décor radical synonyme de nombreuses découvertes.
C’est à Hong Kong que nous avons découvert ce qui est aujourd’hui l’une de nos activités préférées durant notre périple : le free walking tour.
Le free walking tour : activité préférée des radins 😊, désignant une visite de la ville organisée par un local. On y grapille les bonnes adresses et on découvre des endroits secrets. C’est souvent en petit groupe et c’est très fun ! Après 2h-3h de visite, on applaudit le guide et on se regarde tous en pensant … « Il va donner un billet de quelle couleur, lui ? » 😊
Blague à part : nous adorons faire nos premiers pas dans les grandes villes avec des walking tour. Simple, pratique et efficace ! Nous vous les conseillons !
A Hong Kong, McDonald’s est une institution. A chaque sortie d’un Mac do, on voit poindre un autre Mac Do à l’horizon ! D’ailleurs, Mac Do semble être LA solution (ou pas…) à la problématique du logement cantonais :
- les logements étant très petits : les gens vont au Mac do pour jouer, étudier, coudre, lire…
- Les logements étant trop chers : les gens dorment sur les banquettes ou dans les escaliers du Mac Do avec leur valise !
Nous avons fortement ressenti cette difficulté et avons expérimenté le logement à la chinoise (sans fenêtre, 6 mètres2, enclavé dans les tours). Dès notre arrivée, nos hôtes se sont excusés des conditions de vie.
Fêter la nouvelle année dans cette ville a été un choc des cultures car les cantonnais sont très silencieux et rentrent chez eux dès la fin du feu d’artifice. Pas d’accolade au décompte, rien ! A 00.30, les services de la ville nettoyaient déjà les rues désertes. A l’opposé de ce dont nous avons l’habitude ! Cela ne nous a pas empêché de passer une soirée inoubliable !
Qui vient refaire le décompte et découvrir la ville au plus grand nombre de gratte-ciel au monde à nos côtés ?
